Calling All Future Conductors
Within every community there are people that spend the bulk of their time nurturing the development and healing of the collective. These people are often called upon to support the most vulnerable and to speak up in the face of injustice. They are also the ones that are leading people while visioning towards a better future. On the flip side, these same leaders are notoriously in a state of imbalance. They are frequently overstretched, and often feel they are in a place of falling behind. I call these people Conductors; the ones that will pass on the learning and healing to support the masses, while frequently forgetting themselves. The following Healing Centered Coaching Program was designed for these leaders.
Advocates & Activists
Healers
Consultants
Trainers
Professional Coaches
Educators
Non-Profit-Leaders
Entrepreneurs
Community Leaders
Concerned Community Members
Politicians
Please note that this program is currently only available in English.
Program Components
In-Person Course
Students enrolled in the In-Person course are required to attend all four learning days in Oakland, CA to be eligible for certification. These full-day (8-hour) trainings introduce students to core Healing-Centered Coaching strategies. Students will also have an opportunity to practice new skills as members of a healing-centered coaching cohort.
Virtual Course
Virtual Courses provide an opportunity for students to engage in learning via a virtual community. These 2-hour calls provide an opportunity for students to watch skill-demonstrations and engage in practice with peers.
Mentor Coaching
Monthly Mentor Coaching provides an opportunity for students to receive one-on-one support to move thorough monthly coaching goals. The first mentor session occurs prior to the program launch to prepare students for the 4-month program. Once the program launches, students are encouraged to schedule monthly sessions at times that are convenient for their schedules. Completion of the five required mentor sessions is a requirement for certification. Note: Students are charged $75 for any no call-no show appointments.
Peer Coaching
Students are required to complete 20 Peer Coaching hours before the end of the course. These hours can be earned by conducting coaching sessions with peers in the cohort and/or with people outside of the program. Students are required to submit monthly coaching logs to demonstrate their progression towards the requirement.
Group Coaching
Monthly Group Coaching Sessions provide an opportunity for students to get feedback on their coaching skills. These 2-hour sessions allow students to practice, witness and receive coaching from peers under the facilitation of a ICF Certified Coach. During these sessions, students will receive verbal and written feedback on their coaching competency.
Recorded Videos
To support student learning, we have recorded four videos that introduce students to key coaching skills. Each month students will be required to watch a 90-minute coaching video to support learning.
Reading Assignments
Students will be required to review reading materials prior to the In-Person sessions. These readings will assist students to digest complex community coaching concepts prior to class time. Books as well as a reading list will be distributed to students prior to the first day.
Coaching Portfolio:
Students are required to develop a coaching portfolio during their time in the program. Each month, students will receive assignments to support their learning; and save them in their virtual folders. A list of portfolio requirements can be found in the Requirements Check-Off List.
Make it stand out.
