Introducing Blooming Willow’s Conductors Community Coaching Certification Program
Blooming Willow’s Conductors Community Coaching Certification Program (Conductors Program) was developed by Founder & CEO, Leslie Avant-Brown, a Black Woman who saw that many coaching certification programs lacked a focus in serving communities of color. She also noticed that many of the strategies being introduced in coaching programs, were solely focused on growth and didn’t honor the healing needed in communities of color. In response, she designed an International Coaching Federation Accredited, Healing Centered Coaching certification program, to support BIPOC ChangeMakers and white ChangeMakers committed to serving communities of color. Her thoughts for making this an ICF Accredited Program, was to ensure that more BIPOC coaches and white coaches committed to serving communities of color, were able to join the ICF post graduation and serve as a new generation of leaders within the international coaching community.
During the multi-month virtual certification program, students are introduced to Blooming Willow’s Healing Centered Coaching Model, that serves as the core curriculum for the Conductors Community Coaching Certification Program. The beauty of the model, is that it ripples…so that as students build skills to support others…they in turn learn skills to support themselves. Our students from each cohort share that one of the greatest unexpected benefits of the program was their ability to build skills to support themselves in growth and healing, while addressing their own trauma.
Blooming Willow’s Conductors Program, is designed for students interested in developing strong culturally relevant coaching skills to support growth and healing in communities while earning their coaching certification. The program focuses on deepening students’ coaching facilitation in key areas including; inviting presence, supporting safety, developing client centered goals, visioning, challenging limiting beliefs, and supporting healing centered action that promotes sustainable change.
The Conductors Community Coaching Certification Program is facilitated by a powerful group of International Coaching Federation Accredited Certified Coaches from around the world who have experience facilitating coaching in communities of color.
This program is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) Program accredited school, and graduates of this program are certified as coaches by the ICF. Why was the Conductors Community Coaching Certification Program developed?
The Conductors Community Coaching Certification Program was designed by Blooming Willow Founder, Leslie Avant-Brown after spending years coaching leaders in some of the most dynamic communities around the world. In her work, she found that many of our most passionate, innovative and dynamic leaders of color and leaders working in vulnerable communities, hit a celling in their development due to unaddressed imbalance in their growth and wellness supports.
Here is why… in our fast past society many leaders are being encouraged to choose between their leadership and wellness growth due to time and resource limitations. This conundrum of choosing between growth and healing has driven many leaders to choose growth strategies that ensure financial sustainability but add more to their already full plates. Which in turn leads to a discounting of wellness needs which directly impacts overworking, false starts, burnout and general feelings of unhappiness and disconnection.
To address this unmet need, Leslie began to center healing as a part of leaders coaching growth plans which quickly moved many from surviving to thriving. From her learning, she went on to design a Healing Centered Coaching Model that supports clients to prioritize both growth and healing simultaneously in their lives.
